Mission

We see the ever-changing landscape of music as a cascade of potential and opportunity; we want to ensure that every artist, sound, and movement gets equal opportunity to show itself to the world.

Capital stands for equal opportunity to allow all music and all musicians to thrive. We want to play an active role in ensuring the future of music is diverse and represented equally.

Squashing existing stereotypes of each ‘genre’ of music is at the heart of our mission. We are seeking to provide a ‘genre-fluid’ landscape of creatives, instead defining their music by their sound, not by the labels attached to them.

As an orchestra, and therefore classical ensemble ourselves, we aim to halt the culture of generalisation and dismissal surrounding certain music, instead encouraging reconnection and space to engage with new music and artists, investing in musicians beyond streaming platforms and the instantaneous accessibility of listening.

Capital sees change in the future of music. We cannot and will not predict this change, instead, will drive, support, and encourage the necessity of a cultural movement in realising the importance of engaging with the arts beyond a smartphone.
